My absolute favorite pizza restaurant in all of Durham (and I've tried most if not all of the wood fired places here). The eggplant pizza and Nonnas are my go-tos. Pair it with a fresh salad and a beer and I could eat that meal every week. The garage is a unique and beautiful space, fun to take visitors. And the staff is always very friendly and prompt. This is our pizza staple and we've never had a bad slice here.
Came in without a reservation on a Saturday night and was promptly seated. Pizza was pretty good and came out quickly! Very small parking lot so may have to walk a little.
Ambiance is laidback, great spot to unwind. During summer it does feel a bit warm inside but the ventilation helps. Food is fresh, you can tell in the ingredients. I also liked how we can order using our phones, it didn't make the service any less attentive. I recommend the hot honey pizza, it does have a spicy kick.
I come from California and when traveling I always look for good places to eat. A lot of my reviews are based off service and experience. The lady (i think she might have been the owner) was very friendly and helpful. She Told me about a local ice cream shop to try. The pizza was delicious and the Brussels sprouts were amazing. I also had the burial intertube if you're looking for something on the lighter side to drink. They have indoor and outdoor seating.
What a hidden gem! I've lived in Durham for 7 years and never knew this existed! We came here with some friends and split a bunch of pizzas. We started with the burrata app and it was so good! We tried the honey hot, peach and bacon, pepperoni, and kale and fennel pizzas. Everything was so good! I will say the things that said they had spicy items on it did have a bit of kick but all were very good. I love the QR ordering system where you place your order on the app and they bring the pizzas out to you instead of having a server take orders. Plenty of space inside and good outdoor areas. 10/10 will def be back!
Pizza served out a garage with both indoor and outdoor seating. It was also pretty packed so I'm glad we ordered our pies online and picked up. It took around 22 minutes to be ready. They have a bar too to sip while you wait. You do have to find parking on the street which may be hard around that area with all the bars but the walk isn't too bad. Sadly the grandma pie wasn't available and that's what we really came for. Instead we got a the vodka pie, hot honey pie, and margherita with half sausage and pepperoni. The vodka pie is not vodka at all. It tasted like there was no vodka sauce on it. Just more of a spicy cheese pizza because the peppers on it definitely had some heat to it. I also said no ham and sausage when ordering because it comes on that pie. If you can't take spicy food you might want to remove the fresno chilli. It was good but wish it had more vodka sauce. My boyfriend loved the hot honey pie and said it was great. He modified it as well and took off the ham but kept the pepperoni. He enjoyed it thoroughly. Unfortunately, they made the margherita half sausage and half pepperoni, instead of half sausage and pepperoni and half cheese like we asked so I wasn't able to eat it. My boyfriend wasn't a fan of this pie though. I would come back to try the brisket and hopefully have the grandma pie!
Finally visited here after several recommendations from friends, and I have to agree with them--this place really lives up to the hype! I enjoyed the creative toppings they offer and the slightly doughy texture. The brisket pizza had tenderly made brisket and a strong blue cheese profile--if you are a fan of potent cheese, this is for you. We were told to seat ourselves, and the service was really quick. It's a casual and fun spot, but not too loud--a great place to hang out with a small group of friends or relax in their outdoor space with a couple of beers (which they had quite some good local beer options on tap). I look forward to returning and trying more pizzas - maybe my favorite durham pizza by far!
This spot was such a fun, good vibe with bistro lights (sucker for the lights!). We sat on the picnic table outside which fit a family of 7 perfectly. I love the inventive take on pizzas with cool toppings like fried chicken and brisket. I wish the fried chicken was crispier, but overall a solid slice of pizza. We ordered the Pilsner which was the perfect refreshing sip with the pizza. As my 8 year old niece, Bella says: Good food!Good employees!good vibes!good everything! Bathroom pretty!
Don't walk, run! This was the perfect spot for a solo date night on a Friday. I got there before the dinner rush so there was plenty of seating available. Even once the dinner rush started, there was still available seating. I ordered my pie at the bar, picked my table, and waited patiently. It was worth the, about 20 minute wait, because the pie was delicious. Eaten hot, it's a little droopy in the middle, but once it cooled it firmed to perfection. My only small gripe, a little too much oil. I forgot the name of my pie, but it was the spicy one hold the ham. All in all, great experience, very laid back environment, family friendly, I'd go back!
